Traveling has been always at the origin of my inspiration as human being and as an artist. When traveling, I have taken the opportunity to study with different artists (Italy, Greece, USA, England, Argentina). Connecting and studying with artists have given me the opportunity to learn different styles and different ways to view and approach art.

I recently spent two months in Argentina, experiencing this fantastic country’s passion, warmth, chaos, and contradictions. I was inspired to break from figurative forms and have attempted to give voice to raw feelings and emotions.

I like experimenting with different media and textures to bring dimension and movement to my paintings. I have always been fascinated by nature and other human conditions, particularly loneliness and solitude. My main goal as an artist is to be able to express my true self through painting and to pursue my journey by taking risks and exploring new ideas and dreams.

BIOGRAPHY

I was born and raised in Rome, Italy. I started sketching and painting in elementary school, where several teachers encouraged my talent for art. Between the ages of 12 and 18, I painted mainly using watercolors and acrylic and showed my work in school settings and small local fairs in Italy. In 1993, I obtained a Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Rome, “La Sapienza.”

After a brief postdoc at the Italian National Institute of Health, I moved to New York City, where I pursued my career as a researcher. In 2018, I obtained my second Ph.D. in Infectious disease, and in 2018, I successfully graduated from a five-year program in Psychoanalysis. Since 2019 I have been practicing as a mental health therapist in the New York and New Jersey area. Since moving from Italy to the USA, the possibility to express and improve my art took a setback although I have kept drawing, painting, and studying art. More recently I decided to get more involved in the art community and spend more time painting and improving my craft. I started an artist residence at JC Art School and Urban Art where I studied under Thomas Carlson and Justine Uva.
