To grab a moment, to steal it and hold on takes bravery. The immediacy of the action is one of fooling the devil before he thinks twice.
What is important is the very moment of each piece and the creation that happens within that moment. It is gestural and organic. Each moment is so valuable when each is a last. I work to capture the intensity of a moment slipping by. The entire effort is one of immediacy.
My sculptures are snapshots of the gesture and emotion present during the making of a piece. It could be found in the model, the surrounding landscape, in the animal or from within myself. It is how I define the essential expressive nature of a form.
